In today’s Sunday reading, a Canaanite woman persisted in her petition to Jesus to heal her tormented daughter.
Initially, Jesus refused to answer but after seeing the woman’s faith the daughter was healed.
Bishop Barron explains that God wants us to ask persistently—not in order He might be changed but we might be changed.
The Lord forces us to wait so we change by making ourselves worthy vessels of faith, hope, and charity.
