Friends of the Rosary,

Today, we start the Season of Advent, the season of vigilant waiting, that prepares us to joyfully welcome the mystery of the Word Incarnate in Christmas.

We prepare as well as for the eventual Second Coming of Christ.

With this first Sunday of Advent, Catholics begin the new Liturgical Year. It means that we renew our commitment to the faith.

It’s like starting a new journey, abandoning any distraction and indifference, changing our conduct, and being vigilant. Advent is conceived to shake us, to wake us up.

We also meditate on the message of Advent: Emmanuel, which means “God with us.”

Ave Maria!
