We always should have our eyes very open to see what God is up to.
The three kings from the East — the magi — evoke us the importance of spiritual alertness as they watched the night sky for divine signs.
Once they saw the star, they moved, teaching us to move.
They showed us to expect opposition when we walk the divine path. They spoke to Herod about the birth of the new King, and the wicked monarch used that information to destroy the light of the world.
The wise men gave baby Jesus their precious gifts: frankincense (divine worship), myrrh (suffering Christ), and gold (denoting kingship). In the same way, we offer the very best of ourselves to the Lord.
