Friends of the Rosary,
Priests, bishops, cardinals, and popes throughout the centuries are the descendants of the twelve apostles of the Lord, who Christ Jesus summoned at that time to proclaim the kingdom of heaven, as we read today in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 10:1-7).
These first disciples and apprentices were sent on a mission with the authority to drive out demons and unclean spirits and cure every disease and illness.
They were instructed to rescue “the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
“The names of the Twelve Apostles are these:
first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew;
James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;
Philip and Bartholomew,
Thomas and Matthew the tax collector;
James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus;
Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot
who betrayed Jesus.”
