Friends of the Rosary,
In today’s Gospel (Matthew 10:24-33), Jesus tells his Apostles:
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;
rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy
both soul and body in Gehenna.”
Through the power of Christ, we are connected to the source of life, receiving all the unconditional love of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In this spiritual place, we are safe from the snares and attempts of the Evil One, who wants to devour our souls. The Prince of Darkness might kill our body, but not our eternal soul.
Through our prayer, we ask for the grace to be protected from the assaults of Satan and our secular society, which is pushing us to the cliff of destruction.
St. Peter, in his first letter (1 Peter 4:14), which we also read today, tells us:
“If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you,
for the Spirit of God rests upon you.”
