In today’s Gospel reading (Jn 21:1-14), Jesus Christ was revealed to his disciples for the third time after being raised from the dead.
It was at the Sea of Tiberias that Peter, Thomas, Nathanael, John, James, and two more disciples not named in this passage went fishing.
In the beginning, they didn’t realize that it was Jesus. Later, when they saw the abundance of the catching, they recognized the Lord. Jesus came over and broke the bread.
Twenty centuries later we reflect on this passage and we delight in the ways the risen Christ revealed. It encouraged us to proclaim our faith in Christ.
