Almost every day we pray for the conversion of sinners and the repentance of those who offend the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Is this an unrealistic request? Can a large population be converted?
The power of prayer is real, and miraculous things will happen as a result of it. We recently read (Mt 12:38-42) about the conversion of an enormous city, Nineveh, that required three days to walk through.
Nineveh was one of our large, modern cities, dominated by all sorts of worldly activity and preoccupation. Its conversion happened after the citizens of Nineveh heard the word of the prophet Jonah and turned back to God as the only enduring good.
