Friends of the Rosary:
In today’s reading (Mk 1:29-39), we see Jesus curing many who were ill or possessed by demons.
The Son of God went throughout Galilee preaching and driving out demons.
As we read on Tuesday, these demons knew who was Jesus (Mk 1:21-28). But He was not permitting them to speak because they knew Him.
“What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!”
Jesus rebuked him and said, “Quiet! Come out of him!”
Christ was able to cast out unclean spirits. But this is not our case.
Moreover, we must never argue with the devil, as Pope Francis recently reminded us.
“The devil is a deceiver. Never talk to him, because he is smarter than all of us and will make us pay,” he said.
