Mankind’s resistance to God’s goodness and grace is evidence that we are still affected by the original sin.
The parable of the landowner who planted a vineyard and leased it to tenants (Matt 21:33-46) — that we read today — highlights the unfortunate reality of our fallen world, which is controlled by the Evil One.
Despite the Father’s desire to save us from our sins, we continue to reject His offer of salvation. Sin continues to destroy us both now and forever.
Our resistance to God’s plan is rooted in our aversion to the Cross. We often prefer a life filled with pleasures. We fail to comprehend the concept of salvific suffering.
Accepting the Cross is the key to living a fulfilled life on earth.
