Friends of the Rosary,
This COVID nightmare will hopefully pass soon, because of vaccines, treatments, and widespread immunity. But, have we taken the health crisis as an opportunity to amend our lives and turn into Jesus and Mary? I’m afraid not.
Six centuries ago, the Black Death pandemic devastated Europe, killing one-third of its population. People understood, rightfully so, that their earthly and heavenly salvation was in the hands of the Holy Trinity.
This year we might have damaged the health of our souls. However, we are still on time to repent and ask for the forgiveness of Jesus and the grace of the Holy Spirit. We know we are tremendously weak and we cannot do anything without divine help. We pray the Holy Rosary with this intention.

Today, in the Memorial of Saint Martin of Tours, if I may I’d like to pray for the soul of my uncle-in-law Rafael González, who died yesterday in Burgos, Spain, at the age of 87, due to pneumonia accelerated by the Coronavirus. His wife died twelve days ago. They both had an exemplary life of piety and charity. They both left all their properties and money to Catholic Charities, Caritas—to whom they dedicated their lives.
For receiving the grace and assistance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in our daily life and in this meditation of the Rosary. We are too weak to dwell alone.
