As a good mother, she understands our joys and sorrows and responds to the needs of her children. Yesterday, we heard about the wedding feast at Cana, as Jesus’ mother said to the servants: “Do whatever He tells you.” The perfect disciple of Our Lord — and our discipleship model represented the suffering humanity when she asked for divine intervention. Christ Jesus called her as “woman”, not in a sign of disrespect but addressing her with the title of Eve, the mother of all the living. Mary is the truthful intercessor who indicates that the attendants are out of wine, meaning that the joy of life has run out. Then, Our Lord performed his public miracle, converting water into wine to show His lordship. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! Come, Holy Spirit, come! • January 19, 2025, Today’s Rosary on YouTube | Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET • The Audio Podcast of this Rosary is Available Here Now! Today, January 19, Second Sunday in Ordinary Times, the Gospel’s central reading (John 2:1-12) presents us the episode of the Wedding at Cana, Christ’s first public miracle, his approval of marriage, and the intercessory power of the Blessed Mother Mary. Overall, we see the goodness and kindness of Christ granting the newly married groom an earthly gift by converting water into wine and saving them from public embarrassment. By this kind act, Jesus shows us that he is also interested in our worldly affairs during our journey to heaven. The miracle at Cana had other effects, like proving to his very recent disciples that he was the expected Messiah and also convincing all Christians of the efficacy of our Lady's intercession. Christ is telling us, "Ask, and you shall receive." It means that our prayers, with the right petitioning of spiritual and temporal requests, will be answered, as the miracle of Cana proves. We have a Father in Heaven who loves and cares for us, so let us make our temporal and spiritual needs known to him in confident prayer. Our requests will not go unanswered. Ave Maria! We should entrust our cares and our very lives to the Blessed Virgin Mary, for she is "the safest, easiest, shortest, and most perfect way" to Jesus and sanctity, as St. Louis de Montfort wrote in his "Treatise on the Ture Devotion to Mary." Following the Marian piety of St. Louis de Montfort, St. John Paul II chose as the papal motto "Totus Tuus" ("totally yours"). He entrusted all his prayers and works to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The excellence, heroic virtue, faith, and trust in God rose Mary above that of every other creature. Mary is the perfect model of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Devotion to Mary always brings us closer to Christ, and it's a wonderful part of belonging to Christ’s family, the Church. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! Come, Holy Spirit, come! January 17, 2025, Feast of St. Anthony the Abbot, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries)

• January 17, 2025, Today’s Rosary on YouTube | Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET • The Audio Podcast of this Rosary is Available Here Now! Today, the Catholic Church honors a 3rd-century saint, St. Anthony, an abbot and father of monastic monks and Christian asceticism, who retired to the desert at eighteen to live in perfect solitude and prayer. Many heard about his ascetic life and came to join him in his hermitage. He was born in Middle Egypt to distinguished parents. One day, while in church, he heard the words of the Gospel: "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give it to the poor" (Matt. 19:21). He did so. He fasted rigorously and spent nights in prayer. St. Anthony the Hermit was severely tormented by devils. He would encourage his disciples: "Believe me; the devil fears the vigils of pious souls, and their fastings, their voluntary poverty, their loving compassion, their humility, but most of all their ardent love of Christ our Lord. As soon as he sees the sign of the Cross, he flees in terror." St. Anthony was one of the first to lead an austere life of prayer and fasting in the solitude of the desert. Ave Maria!
