Today, the Fourth Day in the Octave of Christmas, the universal Church celebrates the Feast of Holy Innocents, Martyrs.
We honor these small children of the neighborhood of Bethlehem mass-murdered by the wicked King Herod.
These sacrificed lives bear witness to Christ who was persecuted from the time of His birth by a world that would not receive Him.
The Holy Innocents saved the Child Jesus from death by the shedding of their own blood.
