Friends of the Rosary:
In today’s Gospel (Mark 2:13–17), Christ Jesus calls Matthew to become his disciple.
“As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus,
sitting at the customs post.
Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
And he got up and followed Jesus.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples;
for there were many who followed him.”
The Lord just simply said, “Follow me.” It was an explosion of grace.
As Bishop Barron said, “Grace, by definition, comes unbidden and without explanation.”
“Just as creation is ex nihilo, so conversion is a new creation.”
As Erasmo Leiva-Merikakis comments, “The deepest meaning of Christian discipleship is not to work for Jesus but to be with Jesus.”
Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
To Jesus through Mary!
