Friends of the Rosary,
Three times, St. Paul pleaded to the Lord to remove a bodily infirmity he had, arguing that it impeded his effectiveness as a missioner.
Christ assured him: “My grace is sufficient for you.”
The Divinity would prove that the preaching would be more effective with that thorn: “for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor. 12: 7-9).
Many of the saints suffered great hardships and afflictions during their years on earth, which were Christ’s gifts to them.
Without these and the virtues of patience, faith, and trust they had to practice, they wouldn’t be among God’s chosen saints.
Christ uses any difficulties we are suffering to bring us into a more intimate union with Him.
