Friends of the Rosary,
We continue reflecting upon the celebration of Jubilee, one of the Catholic Church’s most significant events, occurring every 25 years.
The 2025 Jubilee officially started on December 24, 2024, with the rite of Opening of the Holy Door of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican by Pope Francis.
Over half a million people passed through the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica after its opening on Christmas Eve.
The Jubilee will run into January 6, 2026, the Feast Day of Epiphany, with the Closing of the Holy Door.
The 2025 Jubilee is centered on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”
Our Lord Jesus is our hope and the door of salvation (cf. Jn 10:7.9). People tend to be sad and discouraged, looking to the future with pessimism, as if nothing could offer them happiness.
Hope is the engine of human existence. The Jubilee is an opportunity for Christians to reincorporate themselves in the Lord and go out there to spread the message of Salvation in full hope.
