Friends of the Rosary,

Today, Tuesday of the Second Week of Lent, we see in the Gospel, Christ the Lord condemning the religious externalism, vanity, and hypocrisy of the Pharisees of that time, and currently, all of us.

We should look into our Lenten practices of piety and works of charity and see whether they are performed to be seen.

Also, today the dioceses of the United States celebrate the Memorial of St. Katharine Drexel (1858-1955), virgin, called to teach the Gospel and to bring the Eucharist to the Native American and African American people.

Born into a wealthy Philadelphia family, she founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and opened mission schools in the West. In 1915, she founded Xavier University in New Orleans.

At her death, there were more than 500 sisters teaching in 63 schools.

Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!

Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
