Friends of the Rosary,
In today’s reading (Matthew 25:14-30), the Lord reveals through the parable of the talents, when the master entrusted his money to three of his servants, giving to one five talents, to a second, two, and to a third, one.
“For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
In addition, Christ Jesus tells us that the lazy and useless servants will be thrown away into darkness, “where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.”
In this parable drawn from the world of business, the first two servants multiplied the talents, but the third one buried his talent.
The talents are everything that we’ve received from God—life, health, being, and powers. They are meant to be grown and multiplied for the Kingdom. Not to cling to them, not to wither, but to bear fruit. That’s how we have a true life!
