Friends of the Rosary,
In today’s Gospel (Mark 10:1–12), Jesus defines marriage as sacred. Marriage is a vocation and a deep sacramental commitment to God.
In recent years, this sacrament has been dramatically compromised.
Two people can come together purely for physical pleasure, for economic reasons, for psychological companionship, or even out of authentic love. But that’s no reason to get married in church of Christ, before God.
Bishop Barron says, “Your marriage is not about you, it is about God and about serving God’s purposes, that it is, as much as the priesthood of a priest, a vocation, a sacred calling.”
“From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
no human being must separate.”
