February 4, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries)

Friends of the Rosary:

This week, during the celebration of the Presentation of the Child Jesus, which is the fourth Joyful Mystery we pray today, we saw how the prophet Simeon witnessed God’s light, revelation, and glory through his eyes. Simeon also foretold to Mary (as written in Luke 2:35) that a sword would pierce her heart, “so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was aware of our weaknesses and sins then and still is today. She participates in the eternal mission of healing and redeeming us from our sins.

Sin destroys our connection to divinity and makes us unhappy and miserable. We can be lost until we ask for forgiveness, repent, and make amends in our lives.

The Most Holy Virgin understands all of this and as the perfect mother, she offers her maternal help.
