Friends of the Rosary,
In a recent reflection, Pope Francis emphasized how Jesus Christ reveals the ultimate criterion by which all history is judged: love.
“Whoever loves lives, whoever hates dies,” the pope told pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square on Feb. 2, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord.
“God is present among his people; he lives as a man among men.”
Jesus embodies universal salvation, an awe-inspiring truth emphasizing that God’s redemptive love is fully embodied in one person.
Today is also the Memorial of St. Paul Miki, a Japanese Jesuit, and his twenty-five companions (d. 1597), the first East Asian martyrs to be canonized.
They were martyred in Nagasaki, Japan, by being raised on crosses and then stabbed with spears.
Their executioners were astounded upon seeing their joy at being associated with the Passion of Christ.
Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
