Friends of the Rosary,
Happy New Year in Christ!
Today, January 2, the Catholic Church celebrates two great Doctors of the Church who defended the truth of Christ’s divinity and humanity. Saints Basil and Gregory’s theological writings and pastoral care strengthened the early Church during times of division.
Basil and Gregory were key figures in the foundations of monastic spirituality and defenders of the faith against the 4th-century Arian heresy.
When facing challenges to our faith, we stand firm in truth. That includes the ardent defense of our holy religion against other monotheistic ideas.
St. Jonh says today in his first letter (1 John 2:22-28),
“Who is the liar?
Whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ.
Whoever denies the Father and the Son, this is the antichrist.
Anyone who denies the Son does not have the Father,
but whoever confesses the Son has the Father as well.
Let what you heard from the beginning remain in you.”
Today, we pray the Holy Rosary from Monroe, New York, with Fr. David Rider.
Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
