The Beatitudes we read in the New Testament yesterday turn our value system upside down, which is great. We don’t want the Kingdom of Heaven organized with flawed human logic.
God does not measure success as we do. He values charity, mercy, and gentleness, and his creation is run by perfect love.
Humans were created from love, and love is the foundation of truth. The poor in spirit are vulnerable, persecuted, and rejected by society.
Being a follower of Christ constantly challenges us, and we may not always understand what is happening. What matters most is having faith and trust in Jesus Christ. At this moment, we belong to the Kingdom of God.
