January 8, 2023, Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) | In Memoriam Pope Benedict XVI

Friends of the Rosary:

In this Solemnity of the Epiphany Day, we read (Mt 2:1-12) that three Magi from the East, guided from a start at its rising, arrived in Bethlehem of Judea to pay homage and adore the newborn Jesus.

They were overjoyed on entering the house and seeing the child with Mary his mother. “They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their country by another way.”

Exactly the same way we offer gold to the Lord to signify that there is nothing more precious than Him. Frankincense to say that only with Him our life can be elevated. And myrrh to ask that He heals our neighbors, friends, and family members who are suffering.
