Friends of the Rosary:
Today, on the Friday after the Second Sunday of Pentecost, the universal Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
This powerful devotion points to the Sacred Heart as the fountain from which God’s love pours into our lives. It highlights Jesus’ infinite love for each of us during his life, Passion, and death on the Cross. It’s the fullness of love poured into the world.
In the late 17th century, a cloistered French nun, St. Marguerite Marie Alacoque, received several private revelations of the Sacred Heart.
Benedict XVI wrote in 2006: “By encouraging devotion to the Heart of Jesus, believers open themselves to the mystery of God and of his love and to allow themselves to be transformed by it.”
The Catechism of the Catholic Church stresses, “Jesus Christ has loved us all with a human heart. For this reason, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pierced by our sins and for our salvation (Cf. Jn 19:34), is quite rightly considered the chief sign and symbol of that. love with which the divine Redeemer continually loves the eternal Father and all human beings without exception.”
As Bonaventure said, “The Sacred Heart nourishes us without fail.”
To Jesus through Mary!
Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
