Friends of the Rosary,
Today, Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is a traditionally celebrated the Holy Face of Jesus.
Gazing upon the face of Christ crucified unites us with all His sorrows, love, and total abandonment.
In 1957, Pope Pius XII established this feast.
Jesus revealed devotion to the Holy Face to Sister Marie of Saint Peter (1816-1848), a Carmelite nun from Tours, France.
Our Lord said to her:
“Every time My Face is contemplated, I will pour out My Love into the hearts of those persons, and by means of My Holy Face, the salvation of many souls will be obtained.”
Two miraculous images are associated with the Holy Face Devotion: Veronica’s Veil, the cloth used by Saint Veronica to wipe the face of Jesus during his passion, and the Holy Shroud of Turin, the burial cloth of Christ.
As revealed to Blessed Sister Pierina, Tuesday is a day of reparation to the Holy Face in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
