Friends of the Rosary,
Today, we honor Ignatius of Antioch, the third bishop of Antioch in Syria, who suffered martyrdom in the Roman Amphitheater around 107, for unambiguously proclaiming the apostolic faith.
About the Eucharist, he said, The Eucharist is ‘the flesh of Christ’ and the ‘medicine of immortality.’
Related to the immortality of the soul, in today’s reading (Luke 12:1-7), Christ Our Lord is revealing to us:
“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body but after that can do no more. I shall show you whom to fear. Be afraid of the one who, after killing, has the power to cast into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, be afraid of that one.
Aren’t five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God. Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.”
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
