Humility is the foundational virtue. The fruit of the first Joyful Mystery of the Incarnation is what defines the saints and the holy people of God.
Jesus Christ, in Matthew 23:12, told us: “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
To be great, we need to serve, as the Son of God did. He came to serve not to be served… And he was God!
There is a great passage in the Old Testament that we read last Sunday in the book of Sirach (Sir 3:17-18, 20, 28-29): “My child, conduct your affairs with humility, and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts. Humble yourself the more, the greater you are, and you will find favor with God.”
