Friends of the Rosary:
Today is the Memorial Day of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus.
Martha receives Jesus into her home and worries about serving Him. Her anxiousness is put into context by Jesus, who emphasizes the importance of contemplating Him before all things.
Meanwhile, Martha’s sister, Mary seats beside the Lord’s feet, listening attentively to his words believing that he is eternal life. And Martha’s brother Lazarus, who had died four days earlier, emerges from the tomb at the command of the Son of God.
The three saints are evangelical witnesses of the infinite, supernatural power of Jesus Christ, the living God among us. Jesus tells Martha (John 11:19-27): “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and anyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
Martha comes to believe, and serves, and in doing so teaches us the way of the Christian life.
Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, Pray for Us!
