Today, in the Gospel of Luke (Lk 24:13-35), we read about the Emmaus event, where two men encountered Jesus Christ after his resurrection.
During the encounter, Jesus explained to the men how the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled in his death and resurrection.
The Emmaus Road story is an example of how Jesus heals and reveals himself to his followers.
The Walk to Emmaus Movement, a three-day spiritual retreat, was also inspired by this event.
