Friends of the Rosary:
We continue to ask for the intercession of the Virgin Mary for the 23,000 victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, their families, friends, and all those injured. The chaos in the region is making it very difficult for aid to arrive, and people are desperate.
In today’s Gospel (Mk 7:31-37), the apostles witnessed Jesus healing a deaf man, allowing him to both hear and speak.
“Ephphatha!” Jesus exclaimed, meaning “Be opened!” At once, the man’s ears were opened and his speech impediment was removed, enabling him to speak clearly.
“He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak,” the apostles marveled.
This serves as a metaphor for all of us, reminding us to listen to the Eternal Word and have the courage to speak the truth.
Jesus, I Trust In You!
