Saint María de las Maravillas de Jesús, a Spanish Discalced Carmelite who founded several nun houses in the last century, revealed what was needed to be joyful.
“Waiting whatever He wants is enough.”
“If Jesus asks what we want, we’d say, Lord, what, when, where you want.”
“To be saved is the only thing we wish.”
“Our desires are no other than fulfill your will.”
These are St. María de las Maravillas de Jesús’ — canonized by John Paul II in a visit in Madrid in 2003 — written words in Spanish:
¡La verdad es que somos felices! Con querer lo que Él quiera, nada nos puede quitar la paz. Sí nos preguntase qué queríamos, sólo le podríamos decir: ¡Señor, cuando Tú quieras, como Tú quieras, lo que Tú quieras, es lo único que queremos y deseamos! Así que tenemos cumplidísimos nuestros deseos que no son otros que su voluntad (Cartas 1665 y 2297).
