Friends of the Rosary:

What does heaven look like? What will we find at the end of our earthly journey?

According to the biblical tradition, heaven is primarily God’s dwelling place. It is a place of peace, love, community, and worship, where the Divinity is surrounded by a heavenly court, heavenly beings, and the communion of saints.

Last Sunday, John the Apostle, in the Book of Revelation (Rev 21:10-14, 22-23) presented Heaven as the New Jerusalem, the Holy City coming out from the splendor of God. It radiated like a precious stone, with gates stationed by angels, and the glory of God giving it light, and the lamp was the Lamb.

And will we recognize each other in heaven? We will know each other more fully than we do now, the Bible indicates (1 Corinthians 13:12). Although our appearance will change, God will give us new resurrected bodies.
