Friends of the Rosary,
Today, we commemorate Saints Anne and Joachim, parents of the Virgin Mary and grandparents of Jesus Christ.
Through the visions of the German, mystic nun Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, we learned about the virtuous and holy lives of Anne and her husband Joachim, who was of the line of David.
Saint Anne gave birth to Mary, free from original sin. Joachim and Anne embraced in ecstasy, the light shone around them, and the Immaculate Conception of Mary took place. The heavens above opened and the Holy Trinity and angels rejoiced over the Immaculate Conception of Mary.
The Virgin Mary was formed in the blood of Saint Anne, just as the God-man Jesus was formed in the blood of Mary.
Anne taught Mary to love, pray, and serve the Lord. Mary would live in all perfection, humility, and virtue.
