Friends of the Rosary,

Today is the memorial of St. Francis Xavier, the most illustrious missionary since St. Paul the Apostle. He evangelized vast portions of Asia and was proclaimed patron of the missionary works.

Born in 1506, in the Kingdom of Navarre, in Spain, Francis Xavier studied philosophy in Paris. Here he met Ignatius of Loyola and was enrolled as one of the first seven Jesuits. They all decided then to glorify God with their lives.

Francis Xavier attracted to the true faith millions and inspired countless Christians across centuries.

For this, your host is a personal hero. Not only because I was born in the same land of Navarre and had common ancestors—for the side of his mother—but mostly because of his unbreakable determination to spread and put into action the good news.

Ave Maria!
Francis Xavier Pray for Us!
