Friends of the Rosary:

These days we hear constantly the word “pride”.

From a Catholic perspective, pride is the excessive love of one’s own excellence. It’s one of the seven capital sins.

St. Thomas considered it the queen of all vices. He understood that through the love of his own worth, the person withdraws from subjection to God. Essentially, the creature turns his back upon God.

In our modern society, pride is acquiring a different meaning. It’s another try to redefine reality. It’s a consequence of a godless society or a society dominated by lukewarm Christians.

For true believers, the virtue to follow is humility — the humility and gratitude shown by Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
