To achieve true peace and joy here on Earth, the only way is to follow Jesus and Mary. When we reject resurrected Jesus and his divine Mother, our life is a mess, full of despair and unnecessary pain.

Humanity can try as many alternatives and fancy ideas and models as they wish but none of them work — or will work. We are wired the way we are: to rest in God.

In today’s reading (Jn 17:11b-19), Jesus explained that He gave us the word of truth, so we could share God’s joy. But the world hated the truth.

We, humans, prefer to live in darkness due to our pride and ignorance.

Knowing all of this, Jesus Christ asked the Father not to remove us from Earth but to keep us out of the reach of the Evil One.
