Friends of the Rosary:

When we preciously hold the Holy Rosary, we walk along with Jesus and Mary, receiving countless graces. We avoid storms and big dramas.

After a time, we might take this grace for granted, and our sinful condition will re-emerge. We might start looking for new avenues and experiences. It’s exciting to experiment with new things—we tell ourselves. Soon, this foolish attempt of finding alternative ways will end up really bad. What happened?

We lost our friendship with Jesus Christ because of our lack of perseverance.

St. Paul wrote to Hebrews (Hebrews 10:36): “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

Perseverance is the virtue associated with the Fifth Sorrowful Mystery, the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It comes along with salvation and self-denial. It is not a small fruit.

The rewards are for those who persevere to the end.

Ave Maria!
Jesus, I Trust In You!
